The Material

A Moving Line Across Quartz

Tiger’s eye is a chatoyant quartz material containing aligned fibrous inclusions. Light reflecting from those fibers produces the narrow, silky band that appears to travel across the stone as it turns.

In the golden-brown variety, iron-rich alteration contributes warm bronze, ochre, and brown tones. Some beads show a sharp eye; others a broader sheen, with the banding changing continuously around the strand.

Tiger’s eye can look compact and dark until the wrist moves. Then bands of gold and bronze slide across the surface, making the color appear to shift without changing the stone itself.

The warm palette works easily with black, brown, denim, and neutral clothing. Its strongest detail is movement, so the bracelet rarely looks exactly the same from one angle to the next.
