The Material

Silver Reflected Through Volcanic Glass

Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass produced when silica-rich molten rock cools rapidly. In sheen obsidian, aligned internal features create diffuse reflections that can appear silver, gray, or metallic against the dark glass.

The reflection is directional rather than fixed. Some beads remain nearly black until they catch the light; others show a broader silver veil across the surface. The shift is part of the material’s internal structure.

The bracelet is dark enough to behave like a black neutral, but it never stays completely black. As the wrist moves, gray-silver light crosses individual beads and then disappears again.
