The Material

A Stone That Shifts With the Light

Moonstone is known for the soft glow that seems to move beneath its surface as the stone turns in the light. This effect, called adularescence, comes from light scattering between microscopic layers of feldspar within the stone.

No two beads show it in exactly the same way. Some hold a stronger blue flash; others appear softer, milkier, or more translucent. Those differences are part of the material rather than imperfections to be corrected.
