The Material

Red Held Inside Clear Quartz

Hematoid quartz is a trade name used for quartz containing visible red to rust-colored iron-rich inclusions, commonly associated with hematite. The inclusions can appear as fine particles, plates, clouds, or broader internal patches.

In this strand, the red gathers unevenly inside otherwise translucent quartz. Some beads are darker and denser; others open into clear areas with warmer orange-red layers. That irregular distribution gives every bead a different internal composition.

The color changes noticeably with the light. In shadow, some beads read as deep rust or wine red; under stronger light, transparent areas open up and warmer tones become visible inside.

Because the red sits within the quartz rather than as one solid body color, the bracelet feels layered instead of uniform. The deeper beads and clearer beads continually trade places as the wrist moves.
